Game of Thrones just released new promotional images for Season 8. With only a few months until the final season premieres on HBO, the batch of photos has sparked a lot of speculation about what’s ahead for some of our favorite characters. Most of the main characters are featured in the release, including Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
All of the characters donned dark clothing – except Daenerys – and armor in the photos and had somber looks on their faces. The dark nature of the photos is understandable given everything they are up against in Season 8. With the White Walkers threatening to destroy the world with their army of the undead, it makes sense that everyone is a little tense at the moment. The only person who does not look serious is Daenerys, who actually manages a subtle smile in the image. According to Trib Live, Daenerys is also wearing what looks like House Stark symbols on her armor. We do not know what that might mean for her alliance with Jon, but she clearly picked up a few more honorary titles during her journey up north. Another interesting note is that Jaime looks to have his amazing Season 3 beard back. His clothing also appears a little tattered, which suggests he may have had a rough time getting to Winterfell after abandoning Cersei in King’s Landing. Unfortunately, the images do not reveal any details about the final season’s storyline, but it is still great to see something new. With the premiere still a few months out, fans cans expect more promotional material to be released in the coming weeks.
